Senior Paid Digital Media Manager

The Senior Paid Digital Media Manager leads the development and execution of paid digital campaigns to reach client performance goals while exhibiting core values of curiosity, warmth, and perseverance. They contribute to the agency purpose of helping consumers make better decisions by working in partnership with client-facing teams to define and quantify objectives, as well as cross-functional teams to activate campaigns across paid social and search. They are performance-driven and will lead social media and paid search reporting with relevant insights, implications, and optimization. As part of the Media and Performance team, they service clients by creating strong online presence and market share. They provide effective and efficient solutions to optimize ongoing operations, streamline processes, and deliver improved target audience experiences in support of the overarching business strategy and integrated execution plan. Reports to the Director of Digital Strategy and Integrated Solutions.

This is a full-time position. Our team works collaboratively in our Columbia, MD office each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Each employee has the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Ideal Candidates will:

  • Focus on paid social and search along with campaign performance for our clients and agency
  • Develop and evolve the paid social media and search practice infrastructure, capabilities, and support services to meet the interactive and digital needs of our B2B and B2C clients
  • Identify and align existing and upcoming social media channels and search opportunities to continuously expand the agency’s paid capabilities
  • Shape and plan paid social and search strategies in support of marketing/messaging objectives and in direct alignment with offline/online initiatives and media plans
  • Showcase exceptional presentation skills, with an ability to clearly articulate paid social strategy, data-backed recommendations and performance reports. Evokes excitement and passion for recommendations in paid search as well.
  • Ensure that Marriner paid social and search solutions effectively support the financial and strategic goals of the agency and the clients


  • Develop paid social media and search recommendations to meet clients’ objectives and campaign performance goals
  • Collaborate with the Director on the social media mix and paid search strategies
  • Lead flawless paid social media channel execution against all strategic digital marketing plans
  • Execute all paid search campaigns for the agency, the clients and the brands
  • Support cross-functional teams in social media content planning, execution, and optimization
  • Report on social and search optimization opportunities and/or risks to flag then develop mitigation efforts to ensure the smooth management of marketing and brand campaigns
  • Identify KPIs and develop data requirements to deliver metrics of performance
  • Understand and utilize social media and search performance metrics to create solutions and recommend optimizations: improved engagement/ conversions/lead generation/etc.
  • Innovate in paid social and search channels to grow our existing clients and their products portfolios
  • Monitor and stay current with paid social and search trends, tools, insights and best-practices
  • Support the agency’s spirit of providing cutting-edge paid social media work and gaining strong market voice for our clients
  • Manage social media vendors, partners, and third-party commitments

Required Knowledge/Skills/Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in paid social media (FB, LI, YouTube, IG, TW, TikTok, etc.) and search (Google, Bing, etc.) including strategy planning, execution and client management
  • 3-5 years of experience in social media planning, buying, executing, measuring, optimizing, retargeting and reporting
  • Hands-on knowledge of social, search, mobile and digital media technology solutions
  • Resourceful, self-learner, results-oriented and proactive expert across B2B and B2C campaigns
  • Fluency in current digital media integration, tools, budgets, trends and analytics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (verbal, writing, etc.)
  • Skilled in presenting to senior level clients and C-suite leadership
  • Ability to form relationships internally and externally while leading big ideas and innovation
  • Experience in programmatic digital and/or organic social
