Gen Y Drinking Habits

One of the ways history defines a generation is by their drinks of choice. Mad Men-era cocktails include the Manhattan, Tom Collins and the classic martini. Margaritas have always been in style. Today’s Gen Y drinkers, aged 21-34, are more experimental, prefer locally made and are likely to drink more wine and spirits than beer. Gen Y will make up 40% of Americans over 21 within 10 years, so understanding their preferences is critical in future planning.
