Many consumers believe eating healthy while dining out is more costly, says Mintel. And on top of that, some are more likely to choose the lowest-priced items over any other criteria. As consumers spend less eating out, some are concerned they’ll choose more unhealthy options as a result. Restaurateurs need to do a better job of dispelling the perception that eating healthy means that patrons will get less for their money or leave unsatisfied.
