Groupon, Chewpon, Living Social, Gilt Groupies and many more daily deal sites are creating overload. Even though the buzz is still rising, Groupon site traffic is down 13% and Gilt is down 22%. The new excitement of chasing daily deals may be wearing off in addition to message saturation. Long-term, as the economy regains solid footing, Groupon and such sites are likely to play a continuing small role in marketing promotions, but will likely fade into the background as the next new promotional idea takes hold.
