Marriner Marketing Promotes Susan Thompson to VP of Production

Industry Veteran Brings Production Proficiency and Agency Experience to Her New Position

Marriner Marketing Communications, a leading Agency in the food, beverage and hospitality industries, has welcomed a new leader for its production department with the promotion of Susan Thompson to Vice President of Production.

Thompson has more than 25 years of experience executing integrated advertising and communications programs for business-to-business and business-to-consumer companies, among them Choice Hotels, Visit Baltimore, and USDA Food and Nutrition Service. Her Agency background includes almost three years at Marriner supporting Linda Henley, Vice President of Packaging/Production Manager, and Vicki Rummel, Vice President of Production, who will retire in May after 16 and 27 years, respectively, at the Agency.

Henley said, “Susan is extremely knowledgeable and will be a great asset to the Marriner team in her new role. Her approach to training and learning allows her to not only find new and different ways to do things, but also teach others. She has numerous connections in the industry, which will be a benefit in finding and developing business partners.”

A member of the American Advertising Federation and a founder of the Production Club of Baltimore, Thompson has managed multimedia marketing initiatives, integrated production services and project/account management education efforts. She led the production of a multi-million-dollar anti-smoking campaign, called “truth,” which received Effie, ADDY and hundreds more industry awards.

“I’ve worked in a variety of Agencies throughout my career, and the energy at Marriner positively impacts the entire organization and our customers,” Thompson said. “I pride myself on forming strong relationships with Agency staff, Clients and outside business partners, and I’ve enjoyed my time as part of the Marriner team. I am excited about this opportunity to expand my role.”

Thompson will be responsible for overseeing and managing the production team, maintaining end-to-end accountability for project management, and setting clear expectations for tasks and deliverables. As she has done in her previous positions, she will optimize the production process to ensure all projects remain on time and within budget and continue to exceed Clients’ goals and creative desires.
