Marriner Adds Account Supervisor with Deep Foodservice Industry Expertise
Columbia, MD– Marriner Marketing further enhanced its foodservice knowledgebase with the addition of Kimberly Higgins, a registered dietitian, foodservice operator and marketing communications manager.
“Having worked in operations I understand, first-hand, the power of a targeted message to help the operator reach customers in a new and exciting way,” Higgins said. “My goal at Marriner is to help our clients create innovative and effective programs that not only speak to customers, but create excitement and differentiation for the operator.”
With more than 10 years of foodservice experience, Higgins most recently worked as project manager for Sodexho’s Health Care Product Development team, where she developed a division-wide wellness initiative and facilitated projects that included menu development, strategic marketing and promotions. Prior experience with Sodexho includes positions as a clinical dietitian, foodservice operations manager and marketing manager.
She has served as marketing director at American University Dining Services, managing retail and campus dining facilities special events and promotions, as well as customer and client communications. As Director of Operations for Dining at the Central Intelligence Agency, she was responsible for a $7 million account serving more than 8,000 meals per day.
“It’s hard to find a marketing professional with Kim’s level of inside knowledge of what chefs and operators need, let alone one who’s also a registered dietitian with experience in the ever-important area of health and wellness,” said Tighe Merkert, MMC president and CEO.
Higgins received a Nutrition Science degree from Cornell University and completed her dietetic training at Syracuse University. She also obtained a Culinary Arts degree from Baltimore International College and completed a culinary internship at The Park Hotel in Ireland.
